Point-in-time recovery
Refer back to Figure 9 for a comparison of point-in-time recovery results.
• The database needs to be in FLASHBACK mode for enabling the FLASHBACK DATABASE
feature. This introduces additional processing overhead on the database servers as well as
storage space requirements for the flashback recovery area.
• The time taken to recover the database to a previous time using Oracle FLASHBACK
DATABASE feature was proportional to how far back the database needed to be rolled back
and the amount of changes in the transaction history.
