Comparison of 10Gb host initiator connecting to 1Gb and 10Gb storage targets
The information shown in Figure 12 indicates sequential read performance significantly increases with 10Gb
storage targets as compared to 1Gb storage targets. As would be expected for sequential I/O, IOPS and
MB/s are considerably higher and latency is considerably lower on the 10Gb storage target as compared to
the 1Gb storage target.
Figure 13 illustrates the I/O flow paths for the 10Gb initiator accessing volumes in separate speed pools or
volumes in a mixed speed pool. Figure 14 shows the comparison of performance between volumes being
accessed on separate speed pools and on a single mixed speed pool.
