Replacing an Enclosure Management Module

Use this procedure to replace a failed EMM.

About this task

EMMs can be replaced one at a time without shutting down the storage system.

NOTE: Make sure the cables are labeled before disconnecting them from the EMM.

Steps

1. Use SupportAssist to send diagnostic data to Dell Technical Support.

2. Disconnect the SAS cables connected to the EMM.

3. Push down on the release tab and pull the release lever away from the chassis.

4. Grasp the release lever and pull the EMM away from the chassis.
