Steps
1. Align the tabs on the hard-drive carrier with the slots on the hard drive.
2. Pull the edges of the carrier to fit over the hard drive.
3. Lower the hard-drive carrier onto the hard drive to secure it.

Cooling fans
Your system supports six hot-swappable cooling fans.
NOTE: If there is an issue with a particular fan, the fan number is referenced by the system management software,
allowing you to easily identify and replace the proper fan by noting the fan numbers on the cooling-fan assembly.
Removing a cooling fan
Prerequisites
1. Ensure that you read the Safety instructions section in this document.
2. Complete the tasks listed in Before working inside your system section in this document.
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and
simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and
support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow
the safety instructions that are shipped with your product.
CAUTION: The cooling fans are hot-swappable. To maintain proper cooling while the system is on, replace only one fan
at a time.
NOTE: The procedure for removing each fan is identical.
Steps
Press the fan release tab and lift the cooling fan out of the cooling-fan assembly.
