Jumpers and connectors
This topic provides specific information about the system jumpers. It also provides some basic information about jumpers and switches and
describes the connectors on the various boards in the system. Jumpers on the system board help to disable system and setup passwords.
You must know the connectors on the system board to install components and cables correctly.

Table 25. System board jumper settings
Jumper Setting Description
PWRD_EN The password reset feature is enabled (pins 2–4). BIOS local
access is unlocked at the next AC power cycle.
The password reset feature is disabled (pins 4–6).
NVRAM_CLR The configuration settings are retained at the next system boot
(pins 3–5).
The configuration settings are cleared at system boot (pins 1–3).
