In Figure 2-1, virtual machines A and B are running on the same server. In this
scenario, the workloads being managed by the clustering service in the guest
operating systems in the VMs will not survive a physical server outage or a
crash of the parent partition. If the physical server fails or the Windows Server
2008 instance running in the parent partition crashes, all of the VMs running
on this system fail, causing the clustered workloads within the VMs to also
fail.
