Overview

Dell™ OpenManage™ Server Update Utility (SUU) is an application that

identifies and applies updates to your system. You can use SUU to update your

Dell system or to view the updates available for any system supported by SUU.

SUU compares the versions of components currently installed on your system

with the update components packaged on the Dell Server Updates DVD.

SUU then displays a comparison report of the versions and provides the

option of updating the components.

NOTE: Only users with administrator (Microsoft

Windows

) or root (Linux)

privileges can perform updates with SUU.

What’s New in This Release?

The following features are introduced in SUU 1.9:

• Upgrading Dell Unified Server Configurator components

SUU 1.9 enables you to upgrade Dell Unified Server Configurator

components using Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Command Line

Interface (CLI). For more information on updrading Dell Unified Server

Configurator, see "

• Accessing SUU from Dell Management Console

You can now access and use SUU from the Dell Management Console to

upgrade/downgrade your system components. For more information on

using SUU from the Dell Management Console, see "

• Information on a newer version of SUU

From SUU 1.9 onwards, a warning message is displayed if you are not

using

the latest version of SUU. For more information on this feature,
