DUPs for Dell Lifecycle Controller OS Driver packs are no longer available on the Dell OpenManage
Server Update ISO. You can find them on Dell Lifecycle Controller OS Driver Packs ISO.
The below information helps enhance your experience with SUU in specific implementations and
environments.
SUU supports Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) Service Module 2.2.
NOTE: iDRAC Service Module is supported on all Dell’s 12th and 13
th
generation of PowerEdge
servers (64-bit operating system) with iDRAC version later than 2.10.10.10.
If you launch SUU from a command shell and then press <Ctrl><C>, the SUU procedure, as well
as any running updates, will terminate.(137862)
When you launch SUU, depending on the system configuration the inventory collection process
takes few minutes , delaying the display of system comparison report.(138439)
The figures and examples in the "Dell OpenManage Server Update Utility User's Guide" are used
as examples only and may not be identical to the SUU GUI.(137294,136624)
When you verify the SUU return codes, use the operating system-specific commands to view the
exit codes.(137296)
For example:
Microsoft Windows: echo %ERRORLEVEL%
Red Hat Enterprise Linux: echo $?
Known Issues and Resolutions
SUU GUI fails to open in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 operating system
If SUU GUI, is unable to launch in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 (64–bit) operating system perform
the following -
Run the command in the terminal:–#echo -e "Section \"Device\"\nIdentifier \"Device0\"\nOption
\"SWCursor\" \"True\"\nEndSection" > /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/xorg.conf
On completion of the command, ensure that the contents are:–#cat
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/xorg.conf–Section "Device" –Identifier "Edifice"–Option "SWCursor" "True"–
EndSection.
Type the command, #systemctl restart gdm.service to restart the GDM service. The user will be
logged off after running the command.
Network firmware (TPF6H) update fails on systems running Microsoft Windows 2008 x86
operating system. (BITS259131)
Power Supply firmware (GPWR2) update fails on systems running Linux SLES 12 and RHEL 7.1
operating system. (BITS247769)
