Management Pack Suite Operations
Discovery and Grouping
Dell Windows systems are discovered through the SCOM Agent
Management infrastructure. Dell systems that do not have
Dell OpenManage™ Server Administrator installed, have unresponsive
instrumentation service, or have Server Administrator earlier than 5.3 are
grouped as Dell "Unmanaged".
Windows Servers
• Discovers and monitors Dell ™ PowerEdge ™ and PowerVault ™ systems
and groups systems (Modular and Monolithic) running OpenManage
Server Administrator (version 5.3 to 6.1), so that the systems are easily
identifiable and manageable
• Categorizes the discovered Windows systems and groups them under
Monolithic Server Group, Modular Systems Group, and Dell Unmanaged
Servers Group
• Provides an inventory of detailed storage controller information
• Collects attribute information on Dell™ Lifecycle Controller and
Remote Access hardware
• Hardware component discovery consists of discovery of Memory,
Power Supply, Processor, Sensors (Current, Battery, Fan, Temperature,
Voltage and Intrusion), Life Cycle Controller, BIOS, and Remote Access
Dell Modular Chassis Remote Access
• Discovers and monitors CMC, DRAC/MC instances on the network
• CMC and DRAC/MC instances are grouped under Dell Modular
Chassis Group
