This file contains information on the Dell Management Packs that are
provided as part of the Dell Server Management Pack Suite 4.0 for
Microsoft(R) System Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1/R2 and
Microsoft(R) System Center Essentials 2007 Sp1.
The Dell Management Packs for Microsoft System Center Operations
Manager SP1, System Center Essentials SP1 and System Center
Operations Manager R2 integrate Dell Servers, Dell Remote Access
Controller and Dell Chassis Management Controller monitoring into
Operations Manager. The Management Packs provide a list of
Dell-specific views that you can use to observe and drill down the
system status in a network.
The version 4.0 release consists of 6 Management Packs:
1) Dell Base Hardware Library Management Pack
(Dell.Connections.HardwareLibrary.mp) for the basic folder structure
and Root node.
2) Dell Windows Server Scalabe Management Pack
(Dell.WindowsServer.Scalable.mp) for a light weight scalable server
discovery and monitoring of Dell Servers.
3) Dell Windows Server Detailed Management Pack
(Dell.WindowsServer.Detailed.mp) for a detailed discovery and
monitoring of Dell Servers and its components.
4) Dell Informational Alerts ON Management Pack
(Dell.WindowsServer.InformationAlertsOn.mp) for turning ON the
Informational Alerts provided in the Dell Windows Server Scalable
Management Pack.
5) Dell Remote Access Controller Management Pack
(Dell.OutOfBand.DRAC.mp) for discovery, monitoring and trap
processing of Dell Remote Access 4, Dell Remote Access Controller 5
and Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 6.
6) Dell Chassis Management Controller Management Pack
(Dell.OutOfBand.CMC.mp) for discovery, monitoring and trap processing
of Chassis Management Controllers and Dell Modular Chassis Remote
Access Controllers.
The Dell Server Management Pack Suite also provides
1) DellMPv40_CMC_Readme.txt :- Contains more details on Management of
Dell Chassis Management Controllers.
2) DellMPv40_DRAC_Readme.txt :- Contains more details on Management
of Dell Remote Access Controllers.
