6. Click OK to start the USB writing.
7. After the USB key writing is complete, insert the USB Key into a USB port on the system you want to upgrade.
8. Press <F11>. The boot menu is displayed.
9. Select the USB key as the boot target.
10. Select option 1 in the UNetBootIn menu’s boot menu to proceed with the component updates.
Downloading SUU And Deployment Media Plugins
You can check updates for the Deployment Media/SUU plug-in packages for bundle(s). Identify the related updates and
download the new payload and save them on the system. The Deployment Media plug-in enables Repository Manager to
generate new bootable ISOs. With Linux DUPs, this bootable ISO updates the pre-OS BIOS and firmware. The SUU plug-
in enables Repository Manager to generate an ISO, with Windows and Linux DUPs. These ISO (s) are useful for post-OS
updates.
To download a SUU or Deployment Media plug-in:
1. On the Repository Manager screen, click Application.
2. Click Settings.
3. In the Settings window, select the Plug-in Update Check and Settings option.
The Please Wait ... dialog box displays the status of the download.
If plug-ins already exist on the system, The Checking for new Plugins dialog box displays.
All plug-ins found appear in the Repository Manager Plug-ins window. The current version as well as the New
Version are listed.
4. To update the plug-ins on your system, select the check box corresponding to the plug-in.
To Select All for download, use the ALL check box in the header.
5. To save a copy of the plug-in, select the Save a copy of the latest plugins to: check box and provide the path where
you want to save the plug-in.
6. Click Download.
7. Once you Click Download, Downloading Plugins job goes to the Jobs Queue. You can see the Status and Progress
under the Jobs Queue list. Click OK to close the Jobs Queue notice.
Working With Components
Components are also known as Dell Update Packages (DUPs). DUPs are selfcontained executables in a standard
package format for updating a single software element on the system. They are used for updating the Basic Input Output
System (BIOS), firmware, RAID controller firmware, and drivers on specific platforms.
The list of components you add appear in the Components tab. You can sort the list of components based on Update
type, Criticality, Line of Business, Component Version, Operating System, Supported Platforms, Supported Devices,
Release Date, or PCI Device Info.
For the Data Center Version you can sort the list of components based on Update Type, Criticality, Form Factor,
Component Version, Operating System, Supported Platforms, Supported Devices, Release Date, PCI Device Info, and
Driver Packs.
You can view the number of components in the list, the number of components you have selected, as well as the total
selected size, at the top of the list. The numbers are displayed in the <Selected/Total> format.

In the Components tab, you can create bundles for selected components.
