Creating Custom Bundles
You can create a custom bundle, and then import components to that bundle.
To create a bundle:
1. Open the repository in which you want to create the custom bundle, or create a new repository.
2. Click the Bundles tab.
3. Click Add.
4. In the Import Bundle(s) window, click Next.
5. In the Import Options window, click Manually create a bundle. Click Next.
6. In the Name and Version window, enter a name and version for the bundle. Select the OS Type applies to this
bundle, and click Next.
7. In the Select Operating System window, select one of the following and click Next:
– Select all Operating Systems
– Select specific Operating Systems
NOTE: This option is available only when the selected OS Type is "Windows" or "Linux".
8. In the Select Platforms window, select No platform is specified (default) or Select specific Platform(s). If selecting
the second option, the window right below it becomes active and the user can select a specific platform. The user
can specify multiple platforms by holding down the CTRL key and using the left mouse button. Then click
Next to
continue.
The Import Summary window displays the properties of the custom bundle the user is about to create.
9. Click Finish.
NOTE: You cannot add components to a bundle if the components are not compatible with the operating
system or platform associated with the bundle(s).
The custom bundle is added under the list of bundle(s) on the Bundles tab. Custom bundle(s) you create are
indicated by User in the Author column and Dell default bundle(s) are indicated by DELL.
Importing Bundles
To import a bundle:
1. On My Repositories select the desired repository, click Open.
2. Click Bundles tab.
3. Click Add.
4. In the Import Bundle(s) window, click Next.
5. In the Import Options window, confirm the Import bundle(s) from an existing repository radio button is selected and
click Next.
6. In the Select Source Repository window, select one of the following repository locations that contain the bundle(s)
you want:
– Source Repository — Imports the default repository. This option is enabled only if you have access to the
Internet. You can import the bundle(s) and components from this repository into the repositories you create.
– Recent Repository — Displays the recent repositories created or imported using Repository Manager.
Select one of these repositories as the base repository. Once this option is selected, the recent repositories
become active in the window below and the user must select one of them by clicking on it. The Next button
now becomes active.
