3. Select the Empty (no inventory) option.
The name of the empty repository appears in the following format:
Repository <number of the repository>
You can add component(s) to the empty repository.
Export Repository To Local Disk
Repositories can be exported to the local disk as:
Full Repository: Entire repositories including the catalog and the packages defined in it — When an entire
repository is saved, the total size of the repository and the name of the file downloaded appear in the Save
Repository dialog box.
Please wait... dialogue box comes up while processing job before submission.
Once you save the Catalog, Export Repository job goes to the Jobs Queue. You can see the Status and Progress
under the Jobs Queue list.
Catalog only: Please wait... dialogue box comes up while saving the catalog.
Saving The Catalog
You can save the catalog.xml or catalog.cab file, which contains details of the repository you created or customized, to
your local system.
To save the catalog:
1. On the My Repositories tab, select the repository and click Open.
2. Click Export to save catalog file.
3. Select the Browse button to determine a destination to save the Catalog file.
4. In the Export Repository to Disc window, select Catalog file only.
5. Select Change case location in catalog XML and save the catalog file to, if required.
Select ftp.dell.com to choose it as the base location for the catalog.xml file. The files and components to be
included in the repository are downloaded from this location.
Select the empty text filed and type the path of the location on your system which you want to choose as
the base location for the catalog.xml file.
6. Click Save.
When a repository is saved, the size and number of files downloaded are displayed in the following format:
Please wait... dialogue box comes up while saving the repository.
When a catalog is being saved, the following message is displayed:
Catalog successfully saved to:<path where the repository is saved>
7. Click Ok to return to the Repository Manager screen.
Importing A Legacy Repository
1. Launch Repository Manager.
2. Click My Repositories and on the top right corner , click Import Legacy Repository.
3. In the Import Repository window:
Click the Browse button to point to the file location in the File Path Location box. There are two options to select the
repository content to import:
a) You have the option to Import only the catalog reference file (e.g. catalog.xml).
