Configuring Dell Repository Manager Update
1. On the Repository Manager, click Applications → Settings.
2. On the Settings window, click Dell Repository Manager Update option.
The Dell Repository Manager Update Manager window displays the following information:
– Current Installed Version — current version of the Repository Manager.
– New Version — latest available version of the Repository Manager if any.
– Release Date — release date of the latest version of the Repository Manager.
– New Release Location — updated path to install the latest version of the Repository Manager.
– Release Notes — lists the changes made in the latest version of the Repository Manager.
3. Click Update to install the latest version of the Repository Manager on your system.
NOTE: The Update option is enabled only if the Repository Manager installed on your system is out-of-date.
4. Click Skip to continue using the current version of the Repository Manager that is installed on the system.
The Repository Manager checks for the latest updates on the support site, every time you run the application. If you
do not wish to check for updates, clear the Check for new version at launch check box on the Dell Repository
Manager Update Manager window.
Working With My Repositories
The My Repositories tab is available once you launch the Repository Manager. You can see the list of available
repositories under the My Repositories tab. This feature lets you control and perform different tasks for multiple
repositories using the same console, with the New, Open , Refresh and Delete tabs. You can also compare repositories
using Run a Comparison once a repository is open. During the installation, Repository Manager 1.5 creates a database in
the system.
My Repositories
To create a repository:
On the My Repositories tab, click New, and select one of the following options:
– Customize Repository - Allows you to create a new repository by selecting a source for the repository.
– Dell OpenManage Essentials (OME) inventory - Allows you to create a new repository by using the
inventory data generated by the Dell OpenManage Essentials.
– Dell System Mgmt Plug-in for vCenter inventory - Allows you to create a new repository by using inventory
data generated by the Dell Management plug-in for VMware vCenter.
– Empty (no inventory) - Allows you to create an empty repository.
Opening from My Repositories
Select the check box next to the Repository from the My Repositories list and click Open to see the details (Bundles
and Components) of that repository. To view information on a particular repository, you can select the respective
Repository tab.
