Using Repository Manager in Server Mode 27
The saved repository comprises catalogs, packages defined in it. It also
includes inventory collector that is saved with the file name -
InvColPC_<Version Number>.exe, where <Version Number> is the version
number of the inventory collector executable.
NOTE: You can customize the filename of the repository while saving it.
NOTE: Ensure that the bundles and components you add to the repository
belong to the specified criteria. Repository Manager does not restrict you
from adding components that do not belong to the specified criteria into the
repository.
Selecting a Source for the Repository
You can select a source for the repository you want to create, in the Select
Source Repository dialog box.
Select one of the options listed in Table 4-2.

Options Details
Empty Repository to create an empty repository. You can add bundles and
components to the new repository. For information on adding
bundles, see
Importing Bundles

ftp.dell.com
to import the default repository. This option is enabled only if
you have access to the Internet. You can import the bundles and
components from this repository into the repositories you create.

Local Repository to select an existing repository as a base repository and then add
bundles to the base repository.
Recent Repository to view the recent repositories that were created or imported
using Repository Manager. Select one of these repositories as the
base repository, and click Next. In the Select Form Factor dialog
box, select the type of Dell systems that you want to include in
your repository and click Next. Dell systems can be classified
into racks (monolithic), towers (monolithic), and blades
(modular) systems.
