User Scenarios
This chapter describes the various uses of Dell Repository Manager (RM) and
the user scenarios. You can use RM in the Server or Client modes in the
following scenarios:
•Scenario 1 Launching RM through Command Line Options.
•Scenario 2 Running RM from Dell PowerEdge Server Update Utility
Media.
•Scenario 3 Using RM to Create and Manage a Server Repository.
•Scenario 4 Using RM in the Server Mode to Create and Manage
Bundles.
•Scenario 5 Using RM to Check for Updates to ISO Creation Modules.
•Scenario 6 Using RM in the Server Mode to Create and Manage
Components.
•Scenario 7 Using RM to Create and Manage a Client Repository.
•Scenario 8 Using RM in Client Mode to Create and Manage
Components.
•Scenario 9 Using RM to Search for Updates.
Launching RM through Command Line Options
To run RM through the command line options, use:
RepositoryManager.exe
<path>
to load a specific repository at
start up.
RepositoryManager.exe -server
to launch the application in
Server mode.
or
RepositoryManager.exe -client
to launch the application in
Client mode.
By default, Repository Manager is installed in the Server mode when you use
the command line option.
