Intel E810 NIC interfaces are not functional on AMD
Rome CPU based systems
Description: The E810 NIC interfaces are not functional on AMD Rome CPU based systems when the number of logical
CPUs is greater than 124.
Applies to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9
Workaround: On systems when the number of logical CPUs is greater than 124, then nr_cpus=124 kernel command line
parameter can be passed as a workaround to fix this issue.
NOTE: When nr_cpus=124 parameter is passed, there is a significant side effect in reducing the
number of logical CPU cores.
Systems
affected:
The issue is resolved in RHEL 7.9 z-stream kernel version kernel-3.10.0-1160.21.1.el7.x86_64.
Systems
affected:
Dell EMC PowerEdge C6525, Dell EMC PowerEdge R6525 and Dell EMC PowerEdge R7525, Dell EMC
PowerEdge R6515, and Dell EMC PowerEdge R7515 with more than 124 logical CPUs.

acpi_pad threads are not spawned as expected when
power capping is enabled in iDRAC
Description:
ACPI processor aggregator kernel threads are not created as expected when power capping is enabled in
iDRAC and when Logical Processor Idling setting is enabled in BIOS.
Applies to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9
Cause: Issue in ACPI subsystem.
Systems
affected:
All DellEMC PowerEdge systems using Intel CPUs.

Dell Controlled Turbo feature is not functional
Description:
Dell Controlled Turbo is not functional when the system profile setting in BIOS is set to performance or
custom.
Applies to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.7 and later
Cause: The intel_pstate driver may interfere with the processor settings which results in Dell Controlled Turbo
feature being not functional.
Solution: Prevent the intel_pstate driver from loading. For more information on how to prevent the module from
loading, see Red Hat Enterprise Linux Knowledge Base article 41278.
