Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 7 Snmp Trap Details Not Shown on ITA
In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 update 7, the implementation of setting
various fields of the trap in net-snmp is different. This results in the trap
details not being shown when managed from Dell ITA.
A fix for this issue is available in the net-snmp package of Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 4 Update 8.
Power Capping Not Functional With Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller
(iDRAC) is unable to limit the maximum power that the system uses by
restricting the maximum frequency at which the processors can operate.
This issue occurs because of a problem in the cpufreq drivers in Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 4.
A fix for this issue is available in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 8.
Unable to Shutdown the System After Bonding in Balance-Alb Mode is Created
Bonding in the balance-alb mode can cause the system to lockup during
shutdown.
There is a possibility of the system locking up during shutdown with channel
bonding configured in mode 6 (balance-alb). The system would require a cold
reboot.
CAUTION: There could be potential data loss as the filesystems are still mounted.
This is caused due to a race condition in the network shutdown scripts and is
not dependent on the make or model of the network interface card (NIC).
To workaround this issue, comment the HWADDR field in the
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth files of the slave devices.
A fix for this issue is available in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 8.
