Installing and Reinstalling Red Hat
Enterprise
Linux
Use one of the following methods to install or reinstall Red Hat Enterprise Linux
on your system:
• Dell Systems Management Tools and Documentation media
NOTE: This is applicable only to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 and later.
• Custom installation using the Red Hat installation media
• Installation using Dell Unified Server Configuration (USC)
NOTE: This is applicable only to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 and later.
It is recommended that you use the Dell Systems Management Tools and
Documentation media to install and reinstall Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS,
ES, or WS.
The Dell Systems Management Tools and Documentation media provides the
following installation benefits:
• Automates the installation process.
• Allows the operating system to deliver additional software or customization
specific to PowerEdge systems, including correct device drivers for
detected
hardware components.
To perform a custom installation using the Red Hat media, you may need to
perform additional manual modifications or install additional packages not
located on the Red Hat media.
