2 Configuring Teaming in
Windows Server
Teaming configuration in a Microsoft Windows Server
®
system includes an
overview of the QLogic Advanced Server Program (QLASP), load balancing, and
fault tolerance. Windows Server 2016 and later do not support QLogic’s QLASP
teaming driver.

QLASP Overview
QLASP is the QLogic teaming software for the Windows family of operating
systems. QLASP settings are configured by the QLogic Control Suite (QCS) CLI.
QLASP provides heterogeneous support for adapter teaming to include Dell
BCM57xx and BCM57xxx adapters and Dell-shipping Intel NIC adapters and
LANs on motherboards (LOMs).
QLASP supports four types of teams for Layer 2 teaming:
Smart Load Balancing and failover
Link aggregation (802.3ad)
Generic trunking (Generic EtherChannel [GEC] and Fast EtherChannel
[FEC]) and 802.3ad-Draft Static
SLB (auto-fallback disable)
NOTE
This chapter describes teaming for adapters in Windows Server systems.
For more information on a similar technology on Linux operating systems
(called “channel bonding”), refer to your operating system documentation.
