Overview
The QLogic Control Suite (QCS) is a management application for configuring the
BCM57xx and BCM57xxx family of adapters, also known as Converged Network
Adapters. QCS software operates on Windows and Linux server and client
operating systems. This chapter describes how to install the QCS management
application. A GUI and a CLI are available for Windows; a CLI is available for
Linux. To manage a Linux host using a QCS GUI, deploy the QCS GUI on
Windows, and then connect to the Linux workstation using instructions outlined in
this chapter.
This chapter describes how to install the QCS management application on Linux
systems. For Windows systems, an installation program is provided which installs
both the Windows drivers and the management applications, including QCS.
There are two main components of the QCS utility: the provider component and
the client software. A provider is installed on a server, or “managed host,” that
contains one or more Converged Network Adapters. The provider collects
information on the Converged Network Adapters and makes it available for
retrieval from a management PC on which the client software is installed. The
client software enables viewing information from the providers and configuring the
Converged Network Adapters. The QCS client software includes a CLI.
