2 Configuring Teaming in
Windows Server
Teaming configuration in a Microsoft Windows Server
®
system includes an
overview of the QLogic Advanced Server Program (QLASP), load balancing, and
fault tolerance. Windows Server 2016 and later do not support Marvell’s QLASP
teaming driver.

QLASP Overview
QLASP is the Marvell teaming software for the Windows family of operating
systems. QLASP settings are configured by QCS CLI or QCC GUI.
QLASP is also supported on Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2, but Microsoft
recommends using their in-OS NIC teaming service instead of other vendor NIC
teaming intermediary drivers (such as QLASP).
QLASP supports four types of teams for Layer 2 teaming:
Smart Load Balancing and failover (with auto-fallback enabled)
Link aggregation (802.3ad)
Generic trunking (Generic EtherChannel [GEC] and Fast EtherChannel
[FEC]) and 802.3ad-Draft Static
SLB (auto-fallback disable)
NOTE
This chapter describes teaming for adapters in Windows Server systems.
For more information on a similar technology on Linux operating systems
(called “channel bonding”), refer to your operating system documentation.
