2. Remove the base cover.

3. Remove the I/O-board interposers.

4. To remove the battery:

a) Using a plastic scribe, push the tab and disconnect the battery cable from the system board [1].

b) Remove the eight screws (M2x5) that secure the battery to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly [2].

c) Lift the battery off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly [3].

5. Turn the computer over, open the display, and press the power button for about 5 seconds to ground the computer.

Installing the battery

1. Place the battery on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly and align the screw holes on the battery with the screw holes on the palm-

rest and keyboard assembly [1].

2. Replace the eight screws (M2x5) that secure the battery to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly [2].

3. Connect the battery cable to the system board [3].
