Enter the default password to log into Windows and configure the DL Backup to Disk Appliance.
Turn on components in the following order:
1. MD1000 expansion enclosure(s)
2. DL2000 system and monitor

When the system is powered on for the first time, you are prompted for a Windows password. This default password is:

Enter this password to log on to your system for the first time. The Dell PowerVault DL Backup to Disk Appliance Configuration Wizard will
automatically launch. Click

to begin installing the CommVault Backup and Recovery software.

Locating Your System Service Tag
When you contact technical support, the Express Service Code helps route your call to the
appropriate support area and the Service Tag number helps identify your system.
In the figure, the location of the Service Tag number and Express Service Code is shown.
Write down this information and store it in a safe place.
Using the DL Backup to Disk Appliance
After the Dell PowerVault DL Backup to Disk Appliance
Management Console automatically launches, click

When prompted for the CommCell User Name, enter

. The
default password is also

This default password should be changed after your first
login.
To configure your first backup, use the EZ Operations Wizard
(left) to create a Storage Policy. A Storage Policy will:
1. Create a backup job.
2. Select client machines containing the backed up data.
3. Choose what data you want to back up and create a backup
schedule.
4. Select the storage target.
NOTE: Installation of the CommVault Backup and
Recovery software takes approximately 10 minutes.
