• clear dampening — clear the dampening counters on all the interfaces or just
the specified interface.
• show interfaces dampening — display interface dampening information.
description
Assign a descriptive text string to the interface.
Syntax
description desc_text
To delete a description, use the no description command.
Parameters
desc_text Enter a text string up to 240 characters long.
Defaults None

Usage Information
Important Points to Remember:
• To use special characters as a part of the description string, you must enclose
the whole string in double quotes.
• Spaces between characters are not preserved after entering this command
unless you enclose the entire description in quotation marks (“desc_text”).
