• For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet then the slot/port/
subport information.
• For a 40-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword fortyGigE then the slot/port information.

To confirm that the interface is enabled, use the show config command in INTERFACE mode. To leave
INTERFACE mode, use the
exit command or end command. You cannot delete a physical interface.
Physical Interfaces
The Management Ethernet interface is a single RJ-45 Fast Ethernet port on a switch.
The interface provides dedicated management access to the system.
Stack-unit interfaces support Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic over the 10-Gigabit Ethernet and 40-Gigabit Ethernet
interfaces. These interfaces can also become part of virtual interfaces such as virtual local area networks
(VLANs) or port channels.

Dell Networking OS Behavior: The system uses a single MAC address for all physical interfaces.

40G to 1G Breakout Cable Adaptor
As a default configuration, you can see the speed CLI with 10M, 100M and 1000M options for all the front-
end interfaces. By default, the show config command does not display the default speed. If you change the
speed to 100 and then to 1000, it is displayed in the show config output or if you OIR 10G port with speed
1000 with 40G to 1G cable, it displays the default speed.
