Default Configuration
When you install the Dell Networking OS onto your S6010–ON system, it is not
configured when you power up for the first time (except for the default host name,
which is Dell).
Configure the system using the CLI.
Configuring Layer 2 (Data Link) Mode
To enable Layer 2 data transmissions through an individual interface, use the
switchport command in INTERFACE mode.
NOTE
: For detailed information about configuring Layer 2, see the Dell
Networking Configuration Guide for the S6010-ON System.
You cannot configure switching or Layer 2 protocols such as spanning tree protocol
(STP) on an interface unless the interface has been set to Layer 2 mode.
1 Enable the interface.
