Setup Guide
This command has options to display the interface status, IP and MAC addresses, and multiple counters for the amount and type of
trac passing through the interface.
If you congured a port channel interface, this command lists the interfaces congured in the port channel.
NOTE: To end output from the system, such as the output from the show interfaces command, enter CTRL+C and
Dell EMC Networking OS returns to the command prompt.
NOTE: The CLI output may be incorrectly displayed as 0 (zero) for the Rx/Tx power values. To obtain the correct power
information, perform a simple network management protocol (SNMP) query.
Examples of the show Commands
The following example shows the conguration and status information for one interface.
To view which interfaces are enabled for Layer 3 data transmission, use the show ip interfaces brief command in EXEC Privilege
mode. In the following example, TenGigabitEthernet interface 1/6 is in Layer 3 mode because an IP address has been assigned to it and the
interface’s status is operationally up.
To view only congured interfaces, use the show interfaces configured command in the EXEC Privilege mode.
To determine which physical interfaces are available, use the show running-config command in EXEC mode. This command displays
all physical interfaces available on the system.
Resetting an Interface to its Factory Default State
You can reset the congurations applied on an interface to its factory default state. To reset the conguration, perform the following steps:
1 View the congurations applied on an interface.
INTERFACE mode
show config
2 Reset an interface to its factory default state.
CONFIGURATION mode
default interface interface-type]
3 Verify the conguration.
INTERFACE mode
show config
All the applied congurations are removed and the interface is set to the factory default state.
Enabling a Physical Interface
After determining the type of physical interfaces available, to enable and congure the interfaces, enter INTERFACE mode by using the
interface interface command.
1 Enter the keyword interface then the type of interface and slot/port information.
CONFIGURATION mode

• For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet then the slot/port/subport information.
