Setup Guide

This command has options to display the interface status, IP and MAC addresses, and multiple counters for the amount and type of
trac passing through the interface.
If you congured a port channel interface, this command lists the interfaces congured in the port channel.
NOTE: To end output from the system, such as the output from the show interfaces command, enter CTRL+C and
Dell EMC Networking OS returns to the command prompt.
NOTE: The CLI output may be incorrectly displayed as 0 (zero) for the Rx/Tx power values. To obtain the correct power
information, perform a simple network management protocol (SNMP) query.
Examples of the show Commands
The following example shows the conguration and status information for one interface.
To view which interfaces are enabled for Layer 3 data transmission, use the show ip interfaces brief command in EXEC Privilege
mode. In the following example, TenGigabitEthernet interface 1/6 is in Layer 3 mode because an IP address has been assigned to it and the
interfaces status is operationally up.
To view only congured interfaces, use the show interfaces configured command in the EXEC Privilege mode.
To determine which physical interfaces are available, use the show running-config command in EXEC mode. This command displays
all physical interfaces available on the system.
Resetting an Interface to its Factory Default State
You can reset the congurations applied on an interface to its factory default state. To reset the conguration, perform the following steps:
1 View the congurations applied on an interface.
INTERFACE mode
show config
2 Reset an interface to its factory default state.
CONFIGURATION mode
default interface interface-type]
3 Verify the conguration.
INTERFACE mode
show config
All the applied congurations are removed and the interface is set to the factory default state.
Enabling a Physical Interface
After determining the type of physical interfaces available, to enable and congure the interfaces, enter INTERFACE mode by using the
interface interface command.
1 Enter the keyword interface then the type of interface and slot/port information.
CONFIGURATION mode
interface interface
For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet then the slot/port/subport information.
