If a switch is a MASTER and you change the hold timer, you must disable and re-enable VRRP for the
new hold timer value to take effect.

To prohibit preemption, enter no preempt.

Enabled (that is, a BACKUP router can preempt the MASTER router).

Specify a VRRP priority value for the VRRP group. This value is used by the VRRP protocol during
the MASTER election process.
Syntax

To return to the default value, enter no priority.

Enter a number as the priority. Enter 255 only if the routers virtual address is the same as
the interface’s primary IP address (that is, the router is the OWNER).
Range: 1 to 255.
Default: 100.
