Router Information Protocol (RIP)
Overview
Router Information Protocol (RIP) is a Distance Vector routing protocol. FTOS supports both RIP
version 1 (RIPv1) and RIP version 2 (RIPv2). The symbols s z under command headings indicate
which Dell Networking — , S-Series or Z-Series, respectively — support the command.
The FTOS implementation of RIP is based on IETF RFCs 2453 and RFC 1058. For more information
on configuring RIP, refer to the FTOS Configuration Guide.
