Assign a descriptive text string to the interface.
Syntax
description desc_text
To delete a description, enter no description.

Usage Information
To use special characters as a part of the description string, you must enclose the whole string in double
quotes.Entering a text string after the description command overwrites any previous text string
configured as the description. The shutdown and description commands are the only commands that
you can configure on an interface that is a member of a port channel. Use the show interfaces
description command to display descriptions configured for each interface.
