Usage Information
If you congure the set next-hop command in ROUTE-MAP mode, the conguration takes precedence over
the neighbor next-hop-self command.
If you do not use the all keyword, the next hop of only eBGP-learned routes is updated by the route reector. If
you use the all keyword, the next hop of both eBGP- and iBGP-learned routes are updated by the route reector.
neighbor password
Enable message digest 5 (MD5) authentication on the TCP connection between two neighbors.
Syntax
neighbor {ip-address | peer-group-name} password [encryption-type] password
To delete a password, use the no neighbor {ip-address | peer-group-name} password command.
Parameters
ip-address Enter the IP address of the router to be included in the peer group.
peer-group-name Enter the name of a congured peer group.
encryption-type (OPTIONAL) Enter 7 as the encryption type for the password entered. 7 means that the
password is encrypted and hidden.
password
Enter a text string up to 80 characters long. The rst character of the password must be
a letter.
You cannot use spaces in the password.
Defaults Not congured.
