Multicast Features

Multicast Features are supported on the following platforms: s z

This chapter contains the following sections:

• Enable IP Multicast

• Multicast with ECMP

• Multicast Policies

• Permit or deny PIM Join/Prune messages on an interface using an extended IP access list. Use the

command ip pim join-filter to prevent the PIM SM router from creating state based on multicast

source and/or group.

FTOS supports the following multicast protocols:

• PIM Sparse-Mode (PIM-SM)

• PIM Source-Specific Mode (PIM-SSM)

• Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)

• Multicast Source Discovery Protocol (MSDP)

Implementation Information

• Multicast is not supported on secondary IP addresses.
