Measured Tx power is converted to dbm using following calculation. This value is then multiplied by 100
and displayed in SNMP.( Figure 13-11)
Power in dbm = 10*log (measured Tx power)

Temperature via Command Line Interface:
To display the temperature readings, use the below command:
Note:
• The Value of “1000000” indicates the power reading is not supported (for example, copper
optics power reading is not supported).
• The value of “65535” indicates optics is not present.
• For quad form-factor pluggable (QSFP), power readings Rx1 power value displays in the
SNMP readings.
• For quad form-factor pluggable (QSFP), cables Tx power is always “1000000” (currently not
supported).
• Enabling
enable optic-info-update interval command updates both power and temperature
readings.
Tx Power = 0.525mW
Then Power = 10 * log (0.525) dBm
= -2.798 dBm
The value displayed in Snmp = -279
