Figure 13-9. Show interfaces <Ethernet type > <SLOT/PORT> Command Example
Rx power is displays in dBm units.
Power via SNMP:
Rx power:
OID Name:
chSysPortXfpRecvPower
SNMP OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.6027.3.10.1.2.5.1.6
1. SNMP walk to this object identifier (OID) to obtain the Rx power of the connected optics.
2. The measured power is in the unit’s dbm.
Measured Rx power is converted to dbm using following calculation, This value is then multiplied by 100
and displayed in SNMP.(Figure 13-10)
Power in dbm = 10*log (measured Rx power)
Figure 13-10. Rx Power Calculation Example
Tx Power:
OID Name: chSysPortXfpTxPower
Snmp OID: . 1.3.6.1.4.1.6027.3.10.1.2.5.1.8
1)
SNMP walk to this OID to obtain the Tx power of the connected optics.
2) The measured power is in the unit’s dbm.
FTOS#show interfaces fortyGigE 0/0
fortyGigE 0/0 is down, line protocol is down
Hardware is DellForce10Eth, address is 90:b1:1c:f4:99:ce
Current address is 90:b1:1c:f4:99:ce
Pluggable media present, QSFP type is 40GBASE-SR4
Wavelength is 850nm
QSFP receive power reading is -2.4397dBm
Interface index is 33702145
Rx Power = 0.006mW
Then Power = 10 * log (0.572mW) dBm
= -2.42 dBm
The value displayed in Snmp = -242
