About this Guide
Objectives
This guide describes the protocols and features supported by the Force10 Operating System (FTOS) and
provides configuration instructions and examples for implementing them. It supports the following system
platforms: S-Series
s, , , and Z-Series z,
The S6000 platform is available with FTOS version 9.0 (2.0)
Though this guide contains information on protocols, it is not intended to be a complete reference. This
guide is a reference for configuring protocols on Dell Networking systems. For complete information on
protocols, refer to other documentation including IETF Requests for Comment (RFCs). The instructions in
this guide cite relevant RFCs, and Chapter A, Standards Compliance contains a complete list of the
supported RFCs and Management Information Base files (MIBs).
Audience
This document is intended for system administrators who are responsible for configuring and maintaining
networks and assumes you are knowledgeable in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies.5
