Networking OS Command Line Reference Guide.

Version 8.3.19.0 Introduced on the S4820T.
Version 8.4.2.1 Introduced on the C-Series and S4810.
Version 7.4.1.0 Introduced on the E-Series TeraScale.
Usage Information
At least one of the routes included in the aggregate address must be in the BGP routing table for the
congured aggregate to become active.
Do not add the as-set parameter to the aggregate. If routes within the aggregate are constantly changing,
the aggregate aps to keep track of the changes in the AS_PATH.
In route maps used in the suppress-map parameter, routes meeting the deny clause are not suppress; in
other words, they are allowed. The opposite is true: routes meeting the permit clause are suppressed.
If the route is injected using the network command, that route stills appear in the routing table if the
summary-only parameter is congured in the aggregate-address command.
The summary-only parameter suppresses all advertisements. If you want to suppress advertisements to
only specic neighbors, use the neighbor distribute-list command.
bgp dampening
Enable BGP route dampening and congure the dampening parameters.
Syntax
bgp dampening [half-life reuse suppress max-suppress-time] [route-map map-
name]
Parameters
half-life (OPTIONAL) Enter the number of minutes after which the Penalty is decreased.
After the router assigns a Penalty of 1024 to a route, the Penalty is decreased by
