default-metric
Allows you to change the metrics of redistributed routes to locally originated routes. Use this command with the redistribute
command.
Syntax
default-metric number
To return to the default setting, use the no default-metric command.
Parameters
number Enter a number as the metric to be assigned to routes from other protocols. The
range is from 1 to 4294967295.
Defaults 0

Usage Information
The default-metric command in BGP sets the value of the BGP MULTI_EXIT_DISC (MED) attribute
for redistributed routes only.
Related Commands
bgp always-compare-med – enables comparison of all BGP MED attributes.
redistribute – redistributes routes from other routing protocols into BGP.

Enter a description of the BGP routing protocol.
Syntax
description {description}
To remove the description, use the no description {description} command.
Parameters
description Enter a description to identify the BGP protocol (80 characters maximum).
Defaults none
