retransmit-interval
seconds
(OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords retransmit-interval followed by the
number of seconds for the interval. The range is 1 to 8192. The default is 5
seconds.
transmit-delay
seconds
(OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords transmit-delay followed by the number of
seconds for the interval. The range is 1 to 8192. The default is 1 second.
Defaults
dead-interval seconds = 40 seconds
hello-interval seconds = 10 seconds
retransmit-interval seconds = 5 seconds
transmit-delay seconds = 1 second

Usage Information
All OSPF areas must be connected to a backbone area (usually Area 0). Virtual links connect broken or
discontiguous areas.
You cannot enable both authentication options. Choose either the authentication-key or message-
digest-key option.

auto-cost
Specify how the OSPF interface cost is calculated based on the reference bandwidth method.
Syntax
auto-cost [reference-bandwidth ref-bw]
To return to the default bandwidth or to assign cost based on the interface type, use the no auto-cost
[reference-bandwidth] command.
Parameters
ref-bw (OPTIONAL) Specify a reference bandwidth in megabits per second. The range is
from 1 to 4294967. The default is 100 megabits per second.
