Usage
Information
After you enable FTP server functions with the ftp-server enable command,
Dell Networking recommends that you specify a top-level directory path. Without a
top-level directory path specified, the Dell Networking OS directs users to the flash
directory when logging in to the FTP server.

ftp-server topdir – sets the directory to be used for incoming FTP connections to
the S5000.
ftp-server username – sets a username and password for incoming FTP
connections to the S5000.

Create a user name and associated password for incoming FTP server sessions.

Syntax
ftp-server username username password [encryption-type]
password
Parameters
username Enter a text string up to 40 characters long as the user name.
password
password
Enter the keyword password followed by a string up to 40
characters long as the password. Without specifying an
encryption type, the password is unencrypted.
encryption-
type
(OPTIONAL) After the keyword password, enter one of the
following numbers:
• 0 (zero) for an unecrypted (clear text) password
• 7 (seven) for a hidden text password
Defaults Not enabled.
