Reference Guide

A port range must contain a space before and after the dash;
for example: interface range tengigabitethernet
0/1 - 5 is valid; interface range
tengigabitethernet 0/1-5
is not valid.
You can enter up to six comma-separated ranges. Separate
each interface type and port range with a space, comma,
and space; for example: interface range
tengigabitethernet 0/1 - 5 , interface range
tengigabitethernet 0/10 - 11
.
Comma-separated port ranges can include VLANs, port-
channels, and physical interfaces; for example: interface
range tengigabitethernet 0/1 - 5 , vlan 2 –
10 , port—channel 1 – 5.

Usage
Information
When creating an interface range, interfaces appear in the order they are entered;
they are not sorted. The command verifies that interfaces are present (physical) or
configured (logical).
Important Things to Remember:
Bulk configuration is created if at least one interface is valid.
Non-existing interfaces are excluded from the bulk configuration with a
warning message.
The interface range prompt includes interface types with slot/port
information for valid interfaces. The prompt allows for a maximum of 32
characters. If the bulk configuration exceeds 32 characters, it is represented by
an ellipsis ( ... ).
When the interface range prompt has multiple port ranges, the smaller port
range is excluded from the prompt.
If overlapping port ranges are specified, the port range is extended to the
smallest start port and the biggest end port.
Example (Bulk)
Dell(conf)#interface range fc 0/0 - 5 , te 1/12 - 23 , te 3/36
- 47
% Warning: Non-existing ports (not configured) are ignored by
interface-range
Example
(Multiple Ports)
Dell(conf)#interface range te 1/12 - 23 , te 2/24 - 30
Dell(conf-if-range-te-1/12-23,te-2/24-30)#
Example
(Overlapping
Ports)
Dell(conf)#interface range te 2/12 - 16 , te 2/12 - 23
Dell(conf-if-range-te-2/12-23)#
