NOTE: The :: notation specifies successive hexadecimal fields of zeros.
peer-group-name Enter the name of the peer group. All routers in the peer group receive routes from
a route reflector.

neighbor shutdown
Disable a BGP neighbor or peer group.
Syntax
neighbor {ipv6-address | peer-group-name} shutdown
To enable a disabled neighbor or peer group, use the no neighbor {ipv6-address | peer-
group-name} shutdown command.
Parameters
ipv6-address Enter the IPv6 address in the x:x:x:x::x format.

Defaults Enabled (that is, BGP neighbors and peer groups are disabled.)

Usage
Information
Peers that are enabled within a peer group are disabled when their peer group is disabled.
The neighbor shutdown command terminates all BGP sessions on the BGP neighbor or BGP peer
group. Use this command with caution as it terminates the specified BGP sessions. When a neighbor or
peer group is shutdown, use the show ip bgp ipv6 unicast summary command to confirm its
status.
