Creating Zonesets
A zoneset is a grouping or conguration of zones.
To create a zoneset and zones into the zoneset, use the following steps.
1. Create a zoneset.
CONFIGURATION mode
fc zoneset zoneset_name
2. Add zones into a zoneset.
ZONESET CONFIGURATION mode
member zonename

Activating a Zoneset
Activating a zoneset makes the zones within it eective.
On a switch, only one zoneset can be active. Any changes in an activated zoneset do not take eect until it is re-activated.
By default, the fcoe-map default_full_fabricdoes not have any active zonesets.
1. Change to the default zone behavior.
no active-zoneset zoneset_name
2. View the active zoneset.
show fc zoneset active
Zone Merge (within ISL)
When two switches are connected through E-port, the active zonesets are merged.
Merge operation involves checking for any zones with same name and dierent member set and segmenting the switches. If no
conicts are found, the zones are merged together.
All unique zones are part of both the switches. All non-unique zones (that is, zones with same name and same members) stay intact.
At the end of merge operation, all zones and zone members in both the switches are identical. Both switches retain their active
zoneset name.
To view the merged active zones, use the show fc zoneset merged command.
