Subscribing to Managed Object Value Updates using SNMP
By default, the Dell Networking system displays some unsolicited SNMP messages (traps) upon certain
events and conditions. You can also configure the system to send the traps to a management station. Traps
cannot be saved on the system.
FTOS supports the following three sets of traps:
RFC 1157-defined traps: coldStart, warmStart, linkDown, linkUp, authenticationFailure,
egpNeighbborLoss
enterpriseSpecific environment traps: fan, supply, temperature
enterpriseSpecific protocol traps: bgp, ecfm, stp, xstp
To configure the system to send SNMP notifications:
Table 46-1 lists the traps the RFC-defined SNMP traps and the command used to enable each. Note that the
coldStart and warmStart traps are enabled using a single command.
