Users Guide
If the switch attempts to contact a DHCP server and one is not found, it enters a loop while reloading in
BMP mode. To interrupt the reload and boot up in Normal mode, enter the stop bmp command. The
startup conguration is then loaded from the local ash on the switch.
To toggle between Normal and BMP Auto Conguration modes, use the reload-type command in BMP
3.0. Reload settings for Auto Conguration mode that you congure are stored in memory and retained for
future reboots and BMP software upgrades. To reload the switch in the last congured mode: Normal reload
or BMP mode, you can enter the reload command at any time.
Upgrade any conguration changes that have changed the NVRAM content by performing a reload on the
chassis.
While BMP is on, the Dell Networking OS Command Line Reference Guide prompt changes to “Dell-BMP”.
