MBGP Commands
Multiprotocol BGP (MBGP) is an enhanced BGP that enables multicast routing policy throughout the Internet and
connecting multicast topologies between BGP and autonomous systems (ASs).
FTOS MBGP is implemented as per IETF RFC 1858.
BGPv4 is supported in the following:
FTOS Version Platform Support
7.8.1.0, MBGP for IPv6 TeraScale and C-Series
7.8.1.0, MBGP for IPv4
Multicast Only
S-Series
8.2.1.0, MBGP E-Series ExaScale
address family ipv4 multicast (MBGP)
This command changes the context to subsequent address family identifier (SAFI).
C-Series, E-Series TeraScale, S-Series
Syntax
address family ipv4 multicast
To remove SAFI context, use the no address family ipv4 multicast command.
Parameters
ipv4 Enter the keyword ipv4 to specify the address family as IPV4.
multicast Enter the keyword multicast to specify multicast as SAFI.
Defaults IPv4 Unicast

Command History
Version 7.8.1.0 Introduced on the S-Series for MBGP IPv4 Multicast.
Version 7.7.1.0 Introduced on the C-Series.
Usage
Information
After you execute this command, all subsequent commands apply to this address family. You
can exit from this AFI/SAFI to the IPv4 Unicast (the default) family by entering exit and
returning to the Router BGP context.
