Usage
Information
This command enables the XML input mode where you can either cut and paste XML requests
or enter the XML requests line-by-line. For more information about using the XML feature, refer
to the XML chapter in the
FTOS Configuration Guide
.
traceroute
View a packet’s path to a specific device.
C-Series, E-Series, S-Series, Z-Series
Syntax
traceroute {host | vrf instance | ip-address | ipv6-address}
Parameters
host
Enter the name of device.
vrf instance
(Optional) E-Series Only: Enter the keyword vrf followed by the VRF
Instance name.
ip-address
Enter the IP address of the device in dotted decimal format.
ipv6-address
Enter the IPv6 address, in the x:x:x:x::x format, to which you are
testing connectivity.
NOTE: The :: notation specifies successive hexadecimal fields of
zeros.
Defaults
• Timeout = 5 seconds
• Probe count = 3
• 30 hops max
• 40 byte packet size
• UDP port = 33434
