Information

Only the routes within an area are summarized, and that summary is advertised to other areas

by the ABR. External routes are not summarized.

Commands

area stub

Configure a stub area, which is an area not connected to other areas.

Syntax

area area-id stub [no-summary]

To delete a stub area, enter

no area area-id stub.

area stub Create a stub area.

router ospf Enter the ROUTER OSPF mode to configure an OSPF instance.

area-id

Specify the stub area in dotted decimal format (A.B.C.D.) or enter a number

from zero (0) to 65535.

no-summary

(OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword no-summary to prevent the ABR from

sending summary Link State Advertisements (LSAs) into the stub area.
