Host name conguration
The host name appears in the prompt. The default host name is Dell.
Host names must start with a letter, end with a letter or digit, and must have characters,
letters, digits, and hyphens in the string.
• Create a host name.

Remote access
You can congure the S4048T–ON system for Telnet remote access.
The system has a dedicated management port and a management routing table that is
separate from the IP routing table.
Congure as described in the following sections:
• Management port conguration
• Management port conguration
• Username and password conguration
Management port conguration
1 Enter INTERFACE mode for the Management port.
To access the system remotely, assign IP addresses to the management ports.

2 Assign an IP address to the interface.

3 Enable the interface.
