OSPFv3 Commands
Open shortest path rst version 3 (OSPFv3) for IPv6 is supported on the S4048–ON platform.
The fundamental mechanisms of OSPF (ooding, DR election, area support, SPF calculations, and so on) remain unchanged. However,
OSPFv3 runs on a per-link basis instead of on a per-IP-subnet basis. Most changes were necessary to handle the increased address size of
IPv6.
The Dell EMC Networking OS implementation of OSPFv3 is based on IETF RFC 2740.
area authentication
Congure an IPsec authentication policy for OSPFv3 packets in an OFSPFv3 area.
Syntax
area area-id authentication ipsec spi number {MD5 | SHA1} [key-encryption-type]
key
Parameters
area area-id
Area for which OSPFv3 trac is to be authenticated. For area-id, you can enter a number.
The range is from 0 to 4294967295.
ipsec spi number
Security Policy index (SPI) value that identies an IPsec security policy.
The range is from 256 to 4294967295.
MD5 | SHA1
Authentication type: Message Digest 5 (MD5) or Secure Hash Algorithm 1 (SHA-1).
key-encryption-
type
(OPTIONAL) Species if the key is encrypted.
The values are 0 (key is not encrypted) or 7 (key is encrypted).
key
Text string used in authentication.
For MD5 authentication, the key must be 32 hex digits (non-encrypted) or 64 hex digits
(encrypted).
For SHA-1 authentication, the key must be 40 hex digits (non-encrypted) or 80 hex digits
(encrypted).
